~ Idaho Falls Power has announced the appointment of Chris Fredericksen as the new General Manager, pending confirmation from the City Council. Fredericksen will be responsible for overseeing the operations and strategic direction of both Idaho Falls Power and Idaho Falls Fiber, ensuring reliable and affordable electric service to the community.
Mayor Lisa Burtenshaw expressed her confidence in Fredericksen's abilities, stating that he has the vision, knowledge, and experience to lead IF Power as a cutting-edge utility while prioritizing workplace safety and excellent customer service. She also extended her appreciation to Stephen Boorman, who has served as Interim General Manager for almost a year.
Fredericksen brings with him extensive experience in public service and infrastructure development. A native of east Idaho, he has been in Public Works for 25 years and has overseen major capital improvement projects, improved operational efficiency, and fostered a strong team culture focused on service. He is a graduate of Idaho State University and a licensed professional engineer, having served as the City's Public Works Director for 13 years before joining IF Power.

Mayor Burtenshaw highlighted Fredericksen's proven leadership on large and complex projects, commitment to staff development, and dedication to excellence as qualities that make him the ideal candidate for this role. She believes that his experience and leadership style will complement the existing team at IF Power and position the utility for continued growth and success.
In his new role, Fredericksen is excited to continue the innovation and work ethic that exists at Idaho Falls Power. He believes that IF Power sets the standard for what every city electric utility should aspire to be and will remain a power player in the West. Customers can expect low rates, reliable power, and great customer service under his leadership.
The appointment of Director Fredericksen will be presented to the Idaho Falls City Council for consideration at their meeting on April 23 at 6:30 p.m. This news comes after several other updates from Idaho Falls Power, including the announcement of their new General Manager on June 1, as well as updates on March 12, February 18, and January 23. With Fredericksen at the helm, IF Power is poised for continued success and growth in the future.
