Dispatchers received a report of black smoke and flames coming from the roof at about 9:20 a.m. Fire was showing from the roof when crews arrived, and firefighters brought it under control about 12 minutes later, the department said.
The main fire damage was on the building's third floor and roof, while water damage extended throughout the structure. Preliminary property damage estimates exceed $250,000, though the full extent is still being assessed, according to the department. The fire also disrupted business operations.
