When asked about Idaho Falls as a place to work or visit, 63% and 62% respectively rated it as excellent or good. These results reflect positively on the city's efforts to promote economic development and attract visitors.
While the survey results affirm many of the city's initiatives, they also shed light on areas that need improvement. Residents identified street maintenance, economic development, airport facilities, and public transportation options as areas that require attention.
Mayor Casper acknowledged these concerns and stated that they align with priorities already on the radar of city leaders. For example, plans for upgraded airport parking are currently in development. The city is also exploring ways to expand affordable mobility and public transit options through the GIFT Board.
The NCS was conducted in two phases between January 23rd and February 28th. Postcards were mailed to randomly selected households in the first phase, while the survey was open to all residents in the second phase. The results were statistically weighted with a margin of error of +/- 5%.
Residents can view the full survey results on the city's website. City leaders will further analyze these findings and use them to drive thoughtful, data-informed improvements throughout Idaho Falls. With citizen input and feedback, they aim to continue making Idaho Falls a great place to live, work, and visit for all its residents.
