~ Idaho Falls Parks & Recreation is excited to announce their annual Free Swim Lessons event at the Wes Deist Aquatic Center on Saturday, May 9. This event aims to provide local youth with a fun and safe opportunity to learn essential water skills at no cost to the public.
The 25-minute lessons, taught by American Red Cross certified instructors, are open to children ages 3 to 13 of all ability levels. From basic techniques to more advanced swimming skills, these lessons will equip children with the necessary knowledge and confidence in the water.
Participants will also receive a placement card indicating their current swim level, which can be used for future lesson registration. Additionally, attendees will have early access to register for summer swim lessons and the Surfer Swim Team before it opens to the public.

Registration is required for this event and space is limited. Children must be at least 3 years old to register for a Preschool Level time slot and at least 6 years old for a Learn to Swim Level time slot. Each participant is limited to one free lesson and must have a parent or guardian present in the building during the lesson.

In-person registration is also available at the Wes Deist Aquatic Center located at 149 7th Street. Due to high demand, early registration is encouraged as classes are filling up quickly.
