IDAHO FALLS ~ The City of Idaho Falls has recently unveiled its proposed Budget Book for the upcoming fiscal year, providing citizens with a comprehensive breakdown of how city funds will be allocated. The preliminary budget for the upcoming fiscal year is set at $389.6 million, with 11 city departments and key services such as Idaho Falls Power, public safety, and the airport being funded. Approximately 16% of this total is generated through property taxes, while the remaining funds come from utilities, fees, savings, grants, and other sources.
Mayor Casper emphasized that this year's proposed budget maintains a strong focus on public safety by investing in personnel and infrastructure to keep up with the growing needs of the community. A public hearing has been scheduled for August 14th at 7:30 p.m. in the City Council Chambers at 680 Park Ave to discuss the proposed budget.
