IDAHO FALLS ~ Idaho Falls is gearing up for the holiday season with the return of the "Fill the Ambulance" Toy Drive, organized by the Idaho Falls Fire Department (IFFD) in partnership with Idaho Falls Firefighters IAFF Local 1565. The drive, which will run from November 21st to December 12th, aims to collect new, unwrapped toys for children in need in the community.
Community members are encouraged to donate toys at any Idaho Falls Fire Station during this time. The toys will be collected and placed into an out-of-service ambulance, with the goal of filling it completely with gifts for local children. The greatest need is for toys for children ages 10-18, but donations for all ages from 0-18 are welcome.
This year's toy drive will support two organizations: Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) of Idaho and Idaho Falls Rescue Mission (IFRM). RMHC provides comfort and support to families with children receiving medical treatment, while IFRM serves families and individuals in crisis. Donated toys will go to children in the hospital as well as their siblings.

According to Idaho Falls firefighter Donovan Hendrix, this toy drive is a way for the community to come together and support those facing difficult circumstances. He expressed his gratitude for last year's successful drive and is honored to lead this year's efforts alongside IFFD.
The toy drive will culminate in a festive finale on Friday, December 13th at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center (EIRMC). The decorated ambulance will participate in RMHC's 5th Annual Toy Drive, Light Parade, and Ugly Sweater Car Show. The Ugly Sweater Car Show will begin at 4 p.m., followed by the Light Parade at 5 p.m., starting at Teton Toyota and ending at EIRMC on Sunnyside and Channing Way.
To ensure that all donations are appropriate and safe for the children, the IFFD and IAFF Local 1565 have provided important guidelines. All toys must be new, unwrapped, and received by 5 p.m. on December 12th.
