Preliminary investigations suggest that an explosion from a propane tank connected to the grill may have sparked the fire. However, authorities are still looking into the exact cause of the incident.
The estimated damage is around $20,000, with minimal damage inside the home due to smoke entering through open windows and doors. Firefighters remained on scene for overhaul operations and to ensure that there were no remaining hot spots.
Fortunately, no injuries were reported in this incident. The Idaho Falls Fire Department would like to remind residents to exercise caution when operating outdoor grills and keep them at a safe distance from structures.
