IDAHO FALLS ~ Idaho Falls residents can expect some changes at the intersection of 5th Street and Holmes Avenue starting Monday night, July 14. According to a press release from Knife River Construction, the existing traffic signal will be replaced and the intersection will be temporarily closed overnight beginning at 10 p.m.
The project is expected to last about six weeks and during this time, a temporary traffic pattern will be in place. This includes stop signs at the intersection for traffic on 5th Street and John Adams Parkway, while traffic on Holmes Avenue will not be affected.

Aside from replacing the signal, the project also includes upgrades to the signal system, improvements to sidewalks, and enhancements for ADA accessibility. Drivers are advised to follow all posted signage, plan alternate routes, and exercise extra caution in the work zone.
The City of Idaho Falls has expressed their appreciation for the public's patience as Knife River crews work towards improving safety and accessibility at this busy intersection.
