The call came in at approximately 8:17 a.m., reporting smoke coming from the first floor of the four-story commercial building that was still under construction.

Upon arrival, firefighters were met with visible smoke and flames coming from exhaust pipes on the exterior of the building. It was determined that the fire had originated in a ground-floor mechanical room before spreading to adjoining walls and the ceiling.

Crews immediately began working to contain the fire by ventilating the second story and accessing hidden flames within the structure by opening portions of the first-floor ceiling. Despite their efforts, smoke was present throughout the building and at least three rooms sustained damage.
