The call came in at approximately 8:17 a.m., reporting smoke coming from the first floor of the four-story commercial building that was still under construction.
Upon arrival, firefighters were met with visible smoke and flames coming from exhaust pipes on the exterior of the building. It was determined that the fire had originated in a ground-floor mechanical room before spreading to adjoining walls and the ceiling.
