IDAHO FALLS ~ Idaho Falls Fire Department Offers Exciting Opportunity for Aspiring Firefighters
The Idaho Falls Fire Department (IFFD) has recently announced an exciting opportunity for individuals looking to pursue a fulfilling career in public safety. The department is currently accepting applications for three full-time firefighter positions, making it the largest fire-based EMS provider in the state of Idaho.
Interested candidates are encouraged to begin the Public Safety Testing process now in order to be considered for this year's recruitment cycle. A local written test will be available at University Place on Saturday, November 1, 2025. In order to be eligible for this cycle, candidates must complete an in-person or online written test by Sunday, November 2, 2025.
To qualify for the position, applicants must be at least 18 years old by the test date and possess a high school diploma or equivalent. A valid driver's license is also required, and candidates must be able to pass a medical examination and background check after receiving a contingent offer of employment.

Top candidates will have the opportunity to participate in physical agility tests and first-round interviews from November 16-18, 2025. Final interviews will follow for those who advance, with new recruits being selected and hired shortly thereafter.
