Boise, Idaho ~ Boise, Idaho - Governor Brad Little has announced the appointment of Michael Veile to the District 35 House Seat A, which was recently vacated by Kevin Andrus. Veile, who is the owner of Process Improvement Engineering, a company that specializes in engineering, procurement, and construction management, will complete the remainder of Andrus' term which ends on November 30th, 2026.
Veile brings a wealth of experience to his new role. He previously worked for Monsanto from 1998 to 2025 and holds bachelor's and master's degrees in mechanical engineering from Utah State University. He is also a licensed professional engineer in the state of Idaho. In addition to his professional achievements, Veile has also been actively involved in his community. He served as a school board trustee for the Soda Springs School District and was the past president of the Idaho Fish and Wildlife Foundation. He has also been a board member for organizations such as the Idaho Association of Commerce and Industry and Idaho Business for Education.

In his statement following his appointment, Veile expressed his motivation to solve problems and his appreciation for the opportunity to serve the people of District 35. He believes that his experience in various professional and civic endeavors will help him deliver results for Idahoans while upholding conservative principles.
Veile's appointment was made possible by Idaho Code 59-904A which outlines how vacancies in the state legislature are filled. The District 35 Republicans submitted a list of names to Governor Little for consideration, in accordance with state law.
Veile will be taking over from Andrus who was appointed by the Trump administration to serve as the state executive director for the Farm Service Agency at the U.S. Department of Agriculture in June of 2025.
Veile and his wife Shelly have been married for over 30 years and have four children. With his extensive experience and dedication to serving others, it is clear that Veile is well-equipped to represent the people of District 35 and address the challenging issues facing the state government.
