IDAHO FALLS ~ Idaho Falls residents can expect some changes to their daily commute as the Union Pacific Railroad announced plans to replace the railroad crossing at Ash Street. According to a press release, the construction is set to begin on April 3 and will result in the closure of Ash Street from Eastern Avenue to Northgate Mile (Yellowstone Highway). In addition, the parking lot between Elm and Ash Streets west of the railroad tracks will also be closed for material and equipment staging. The road is expected to reopen by April 5, but drivers are advised to seek alternative routes and exercise caution while driving through the work zone.
