IDAHO FALLS ~ On Friday evening, the Idaho Falls Fire Department was called to respond to a structure fire on Dalmatian Drive. According to reports, a person had called 911 around 5:15 p.m. to report smoke inside the home. The caller stated that they did not see any fire and were unsure of the source of the smoke. Fortunately, everyone in the home had already evacuated.
Upon arrival, IFFD immediately began confirming that all occupants were safely out of the home while simultaneously working to extinguish the fire in a bedroom. Thanks to their quick response, the fire was quickly knocked down and prevented from spreading to other areas of the house.

The department responded with three ambulances, three engines, a ladder truck, and a battalion chief. The cause of the fire is still under investigation by IFFD's Fire Prevention and Investigation Division. Initial estimates suggest that damages amount to approximately $5,000.
Thankfully, no injuries were reported in this incident. The Idaho Falls Fire Department reminds residents to always be cautious and aware of potential fire hazards in their homes.
